Unexpected Buy – the Aleph by Marlen, Italy

Just a short post for now, handwriting samples may follow :p

The Aleph has arrived! I didn’t really pre-order it but the clear feed was so attractive I was keen to try it out initially. Then, some binge-buying and more binge-buying, inks included, I thought I had better lay low.

I was REALLY just going to collect my long-awaited Ama-iro today, and was JUST going to tell D I changed my mind about the Aleph. Well before I voiced my thoughts, (and I thought he was rummaging to show me  some Danitrios) he returned with this.

The minute I dip tested it, I had to have it. My pictures don’t really do this pen justice. It feels solid, with a nice weight. Not too heavy but you can definitely feel it. The steel nib DOES flex. BOY can it flex. In fact it doesn’t take alot of pressure. D was surprised at how it easily flexed when I was testing it. Maybe I got a good one – who knows? I’m certainly not complaining 🙂

The nice eco packing (I totally dig this, I rather spend every penny on the pen and nib etc than a nice lacquered box, yes I am just one of those)
